HARLEY GRIFFITH

Harley M. Griffiths (1908 – 1986) was an American artist who worked in comic books during the 1940s. He was initially affiliated with the Funnies Inc studio, through which he drew for titles like 'Real Life Comics' (Better Publications) and 'True Comics' (Parents' Magazine Press).

He was among the early illustrators for Gilberton's Classics Illustrated series, drawing the adaptations of 'House of Seven Gables', 'House of Usher', 'Jane Eyre' and 'The Odyssey' between 1947 and 1951. During this period, he also contributed to EC's 'The Land of the Lost Comics' and 'Picture Stories from History', as well as Lev Gleason's 'Crime Does Not Pay'.
