HOLY COW

This is one more of the story scribbles from the pile of Egmont rejects, which Gorm Transgaard gave me during a visit to his old homeland in the 90'es.

As time went by, I managed to get them all accepted in Holland, and with pleasure I executed the artwork respecting the very workable layouts. These layouts were regrettably ignored by other artists from Egmont, who took over Gorm's scribbles for illustration. They didn't acknowledge his talents for putting together simple and fine layouts as I did.

Rejected by Egmont I wonder, how it would fare these days even in Holland, with all the trouble media have run into about respecting people's culture. After all there could be raised criticism these days about the picture drawn of Indian culture, a problem not so dominant when the story was printed in 2003…

I must admit that I diminished some of the more silly routines, like the desperate reactions of the maharajah, but I still wonder if it would pass the editorials these days, even in Holland…
